So, I’ve expressed my love for Brinner in the past (see my Eggnog Waffles) and since February is National Hot Breakfast Month, I thought what better way to celebrate than to have a Brinner Party! Breakfast at night is always a winner.
Everyone has been to brunch at a friend’s house, so why not have friends over for Breakfast at Night?! You can make a game night out of it, you can even encourage your friends to wear their PJs!
I was excited when Krusteaz invited me to participate in the Breakfast Night movement. I had a great time creating recipes with their Gluten Free line, and I’ve used their Buttermilk Pancake mix in the past, so I knew I was in for a treat. And on top of providing me with some mixes to enjoy, we had such a great time with the last giveaway that they’ve offered another gift pack to pass along!
So do you have a Breakfast Night tradition in your house? If not, Krusteaz wants to help by earmarking Wednesday’s as Breakfast Night.
One of the great things about breakfast foods are how easy they are to make and how much you can do ahead. (And I think easier to clean up which is a big plus in my book!)
For this Brinner Bash I decided to make some of the Krusteaz Chocolate Chunk Muffins the day ahead, to save some time. The mix was already chock-full of deliciousness but I decided to kick it up a bit. I added 3/4 cup of chopped pecans and topped the muffins (before baking) with brown sugar.
H gobbled a couple of these up as soon as he could get his hands on them. They’re delicious alone or with an indulgent slathering of Nutella. These would also be great to make on a Sunday so you have a breakfast to grab on the go on busy weekday mornings.
I went with the Honey Wheat Pancake Mix which was a great choice! All you have to add is water. The pancakes were light and fluffy and the perfect vessel for the plethora of toppings. I made them in batches and kept them warm in the oven while everyone enjoyed their drinks and chit chat. They were perfectly piping when it was time to eat.
The possibilities are endless with a Breakfast (or Brinner) Bar!
Here’s what I used this go-round:
- Cherry Juice
- Fun and Funky Straws
- Turkey Bacon
- Krusteaz Honey Wheat Pancakes
- Krusteaz Chocolate Chunk Muffins with Pecans and Brown Sugar
- Plain Organic Greek Yogurt
- Organic Granola
- Fresh Pineapple, Blueberries and Strawberries (for Mimosas, Yogurt Mix-ins or Pancake Topping)
- Local Honey
- Real Maple Syrup
- Softened Butter
I went a little light as there were only a handful of us but, you can build the bar out as big as you’d like to go. Add some mini omelets (you can make these in a muffin tin, and they can be done ahead), Krusteaz Blueberry Waffles, or ask your friends to bring their favorite breakfast bites.
And don’t forget, Krusteaz has lots of great Gluten Free options!
Mimosa bars are one of my favorite party stations. I love setting up different juices and fruits to offer guests. We only had a few people at this scrumptious soiree so I only put out a couple juices and fruits but you can really have fun with this! Try cranberry, pineapple, watermelon, orange and pomegranate juices, or add any other juice you think would go well with bubbly, then add some freshly cut fruit and let the cocktail creations commence!
We had such a wonderful time at our Breakfast at Night Brinner Party that we want to pass the fun along!
