Happy Holidays, friends! I hope you are all having a joyous and festive season. I think we deserve a beverage, it’s happy hour somewhere, right? We’ve worked hard, managed the shopping lines and wrapped all the gifts. We’ve earned it.
Last year it was the Randy Reindeer, this year it’s the Cape Cod Mule- Cranberry Moscow Mule. It’s a little tart and sensationally sippable. The cranberry gives it a little seasonal kick (but, who am I kidding, you could drink this all year long) and adds another layer of festive flavor.
Hello! And Happy August C.L.U.E. Day! That’s right, it’s time again for Blogger C.L.U.E. reveal day, and what a sweet day it is. This month we aimed to Beat the Heat, and boy did I try. Have I mentioned how hot it is in Florida? Oh, right, I did. Can the weather break already? I know, I know– it’s too soon, I’ll keep enjoying the beach and be quiet.
Beyond a refreshing dip in the Atlantic, I guess we have to find the most delectable ways to keep cool. And. boy did I find one on Sew You Think You Can Cook. This Frozen Cherry Lemonade is everything you need to have the coolest summer, ever. And, it’s so quick and simple to put together, you won’t even break a sweat.
This Blood Orange Mojito is beyond awesome … it’s juicy, lush and maybe a little luxurious. And dare I say…dangerous. (Mostly because they are SO smooth and refreshing that you’ll knock a couple back and wonder why your glass is empty.) They’ll have you feeling like you’re on an island getaway, even if you’re just at your kitchen island sorting mail or doing the dishes.
I asked a buddy to help me name this cocktail, and since “there is no off switch on the genius” –we now have Tercules. Like Hercules, but for Thanksgiving.
And, yes it is that awesome. It is strong. It is autumnal. It is smooth and satisfying. It goes perfectly with a Herculean sized meal. You’re welcome.
It is made with autumn inspired and amazing items, namely Stella Artois Cidre, Apple Cider and Bourbon.
Once again I’ve found a way to mix my love of pumpkin and spirits into something new. Last year it was the Pumpkin Pumpkin Beer Bread, which is in the oven right now.
This year, I saw a post for the Pumpkin Spice Kahlua and knew I had to get my hands on a bottle!! I started looking around and surprisingly, it was not well stocked. I had to wait a few weeks until a shipment came into my local store. I snatched up a bottle and got to concocting.
I know I am not the only one who waits for the annual release of the Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks. I can’t help myself.
So I was thinking about my liking of the classic White Russian and twisting it up with some pumpkin spiciness. This is what I came up with, and I think it’s a home run.
If you don’t have espresso handy, you could always use brewed coffee, but I think they flavor is nicer with a freshly brewed batch of espresso.
This would be great to sip on while the kids Trick or Treat, or as a night cap after Thanksgiving dinner.
